5 REASONS TO HAVE A LIFESTYLE NEWBORN SESSION AT HOME…
1. You don’t have to leave the house.
Stating the obvious here. But, getting ready, packing the car and traveling to a studio for your photo shoot can be a very stressful experience. Especially if you have toddlers. Some families look back at their studio images and, although they may love the portraits, it may bring back memories of the stress and drama of getting to the session on time. When you have a session at home, the pressure is off. You can relax and you know you have everything you need for your session right where you need it.
2. There’s no need to disrupt your baby’s routine.
We will schedule your session around you and your baby’s needs. During the session we can take breaks to nurse, change and tend to your baby’s needs and the needs of other children. In fact, we can capture these candid moments for you - making a true documentary of your family life at this moment. Being in your own environment means that everyone is usually more settled and relaxed and your images reflect this.
3. You won’t have to worry about ‘taming toddlers’.
We generally start with sibling photos and then whole family shots. These are nice and quick and then your toddler can get on with what they do best - playing. Being at home means they will have all of their own stuff to keep them entertained and you don’t have to worry about them like you might if you were in a studio.
4. Your images will be full of emotion and sentiment.
Don’t get me wrong, studio photos are beautiful… but in years to come, you will want to have pictures that transport you back in time so you can remember these incredible days with your new baby. In-home newborn sessions are so special. Because you are in your own home, the emotion and connection of your family is easily captured and nothing looks ‘staged’.
5. Dad can watch TV, play lego or mow the lawn.
Sorry to stereotype, but the point is that Dads are often not ‘into’ photos as much as mums. And that’s fine. Being at home, rather than stuck in a studio means that we can get all of the photos involving Dad done and then let him get on with his day. During this session for example, Dad was able to get on with renovating the kitchen!
